Reflection of MPU Personal Develpoment

During the MPU program, I wrote about myself and knew my learning style. Before studying, we need to know what kind of learning style is the most suitable for us, so that we can learn things more effective. During this program, I also mixed with other friends from different groups and knew about their personalities and learning styles. I also wrote a reflection of me. From that, I realize that I have learnt new skills from the community services. I also knew more about my own strength, weakness, opportunities and threats through the SWOT analysis. I also realize that if I want to be success in my life I have to set a goal for myself at first and also I have to aim and work hard to achieve that goal.

Personal Action Plan

The one goal that I want now is to get a good result for A levels. If I work towards this goal, I would have a higher chance of getting into some universities such as University of Nottingham, University of Melbourne, University of New castle, University of Sydney and Kyung Hee University. The path towards this goal is not easy. And since the A level program in TCSJ is 1.5 years, it means that we have 6 months lesser than those in the UK taking a levels for learn the subject.

To achieve my goal, I must prepare a routine to do each week. No more dilly dallying. I would do periodically studying every week and try to complete my work on time. As additional exercises to improve on my grade I would do one set of past years for each subject every 2 days.

To help me with my goal, I would use my peers and lecturers as support. I would ask my lecturers of the subject area that I am not familiar with and my peers would help support me by studying with me or teaching the areas in which they're good at and vice versa. My peers can give me support by giving me words of encouragement.


The one thing keeping me from reaching my goal is the my poor time management skills as an individual. I may mess up my routine or not follow it after a while. The steps I would take in overcoming this obstacle is that I try to stick strictly to my schedule. Maybe give a small punishment every time. I do not follow up with the schedule.

Why should we reflect ?

It is from the feelings and thoughts from this reflection that generalisations or concepts can be generated. And it is these concepts that allow new situations to be tackled effectively.'

REFLECTION

I was an Interactor of the Interact Club and also one of the committee of the club for 3 years during my secondary school. I was in charge of the post of IU Director for the first one and a half year and secretary for the following year. Most of the events and activities we held are most on the community service. We visited to old folk's home, dialysis centre and orphanage home. We also held activities like Recycle event, Club Trip, IU Night and more. I have learnt many things and gained new experience from these events. When we visited to the old folk's home and orphanage home, we buy some daily necessaries for them, help them clean up their place, and also some performance to entertain them. Futhermore, we also have some events like Installation and IU Night. Both of these events we prepared performances for the audience depends on different themes. All of the committee will prepare their performance since 1 months before the event. We practiced dancing, drama, band singing, orchestra and more. Some of them would also help to plan the decoration of the hall , the design of the ticket, price of the ticket and more. From these event, I realize that a good leader is very important in a club to bring up and improve the club. During that period, I also realize that being a member and a committee of a club is totally different. When I was a member, I think that planing an event is not that difficult. But when I become a committee, I think that planning an event and make an event success, we need cooperation between each and others, good communication skills, determination and creative. Other than that, we need keep calm to solve the problem and difficulties we faced. And also, we not only concern about our own job but also others. When they need help, we help each others so the event ended more successful. Some of the money that we fund during these activities will donate to the society centre who need helps such as dialysis centre, home for the disabled, orphanage home and old folk's home. From that, I noticed that there is a lots of people in the society that need our helps and I feel happy that we can help them to lighten their burden. Their smiling face is ours happiness.

JOE ING

This is Lee Joe Ing from Group 16 of the Jan 2015 intake batch. She is an audio learner. When she study, she like to read out the notes loudly. So, she can memorize it in a shorter time. When she
face problem , she would like to asked the lecturer to explain it but not only show the slideshow.

This is Choo Mei Fei from Group 6. She is a visual learner. When she study, she like to take down the notes, highlight things with different colors because that make me memorize easily. She also do some past year paper for revisions.
